Small White Sage Stick

White sage is one of many dried herbs used for smoke cleansing ceremonies involving personal spaces, items and people. It is a sacred plant of the indigenous people of Native America. There is a lot of controversy around the use of sage due to unethical sources and not truly understanding the spiritual context around this highly spiritual plant. Our sage has been sourced from replenishable farming sources. 

Smoke ceremonies have been performed as part of a spiritual practice in nearly every culture in our world. There are many spiritual and medicinal herbs that can be used for the practice. Understanding that simply lighting a sage stick to chase away negativity isn't how this practice works. Sage can be used for cleansing personal spaces such as rooms, houses and altars; tools used in your spiritual practice including crystals and of course purifying and creating intentions within yourself, but the smoke cleansing is just part of a larger ceremony including ritual and prayer. 

Sage smoke is very thick, and we do not recommend burning this around animals or small children. Sage also has a very distinctive smell which may be overpowering for some people. Also burn sage on a heat proof plate or in a heat proof container, the embers can fall and burn whatever they land on. Never leave lit sage unattended. Heavy sage smoke in homes has been known to trigger a fire alarm or two as well.
